Each week has a specific focus based on homework though you are free to address any issues you’re having. Participants are given 15 minutes to ask questions and voice concerns and successes for your manuscript. Only Jill and Martha answer questions and give input. During each writer’s time, the seven other writers benefit from actively listening and taking notes. “I do a one-page thing. It’s a graph that I learned from a book called The Plot Whisperer.  That’s how I learned to plot is from that book. She makes a little graph that she shows you. So I plot everything on that graph and I know the high points and the low points. So I always know like what’s the hook, what’s the turning point at 25% mark, what’s the 50%, what’s the crisis, what’s the climax. That’s all I start with – those 5 things.”
JA Huss is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than twenty romances.
